Cart, cash, card, and pickup states

Cash follows Request, Approve, Complete

1. Requested: the buyer has asked to purchase the items. Inventory is not yet reserved, and the seller can approve, reject, or cancel the request.
2. Approved: Forsale reserves the requested tracked quantity. Buyer and seller coordinate cash payment and pickup. Approval does not record a completed sale.
3. Completed: after cash payment and pickup, the seller confirms completion. Forsale deducts tracked inventory and records the sale exactly once.

Card checkout is processor-confirmed

Payment pending reserves eligible inventory while Stripe processes the hosted payment. Forsale completes the order from a verified paid Stripe update; a failed, cancelled, or expired card flow releases the reservation. Do not treat a browser success screen alone as proof of payment.

Terminal states

• Completed means the sale and inventory change are final in Forsale.
• Rejected means the seller declined a requested cash checkout; no sale was recorded.
• Buyer cancelled or Seller cancelled ends the checkout and releases any reservation once.
• Expired means the checkout ended before completion and any reservation was released.
• Payment failed means card payment did not complete and reserved inventory was released.

Pickup safety

Agree on the item, amount, payment method, place, and time before travel. Inspect the item before paying when practical, meet in a public or visible place, and never send passwords, verification codes, or unexpected overpayments.
